Build the foundation for your meditation self-practice

From the foundations of a daily practice, potential challenges and overcoming them, to varied methods of performing, meditation is accessible to everyone. Energy Healer Dina Ghandour draws on her mindfulness and meditation instructor qualifications to offer a step-by-step process on how to find a seat for your meditation, how to create it as a new habit, and how to learn to simply sit and be with your thoughts, as well as a range of fascinating meditation practices including breath awareness, body scanning, affirmations, and mantras. This course is created as a 3-week challenge to encourage you to build a short daily meditation practice.

About

Dina Ghandour, a yoga, mindfulness, and meditation instructor based in the United Arab Emirates, dedicates her teaching and her practice to helping people heal and find calm amongst the chaos. With an aim to make yoga and meditation more accessible through a safe and uplifting environment – bringing a sense of balance and grounding to her students’ lives – the Duquesne University alum believes she has the perfect way to kickstart, or build upon the foundation of, your meditation self-practice journey.

Course Plan

Week 1 - Foundations of a Daily Meditation Practice
This week we are going to look at the foundations of meditation – exploring what brought you here and what you hope to get out of this challenge, the fundamentals of the practice including your seat, building focus, the power of repetition, and more.
Week 2 - The Challenges We Face, and Overcoming Them
So you have started a new meditation practice. Great! What now? Well, this is when most challenges arise. This week we look at what some of those – mostly internal – challenges are, and, importantly, how to manage them. We look at when not to meditate, and also consider general care for our mind and body to support your practice.
Week 3 - Methods of Meditation
This week we will focus on the step-by-step process to refine your meditation practice, as well as different methods within meditation – from visualization, to mantra, and more.
