Box Breathing
This guided meditation uses a breathing technique called Box Breathing. Also known as Square Breathing, it involves inhaling, calmly holding your breath, exhaling, then holding space for your emptied lungs, before repeating the process and pattern, for the same amount of counts each time (typically for four counts). Box Breathing is an excellent way to calm ourselves down when we’re feeling stressed or anxious. It can also help us feel more focused, helping us concentrate better when we find our minds wandering.
Research has shown that conscious breathing can help us to lower our stress and anxiety levels, boost our energy levels, and help us find more mental clarity, greater awareness, and a lower risk of disease.
This breathing exercise can be done by all levels, anytime, during the day or at night. It’s a simple and fast way to relax your body, reduce your stress and anxiety, and reconnect with yourself and the present moment.
