Glare to Become Aware

Gazing at an object in front of you as you meditate gives your mind an anchor to return to if it ever gets distracted. Over time, this form of meditation can help reduce stress, anxiety, and increase your attention span, creativity, patience and self-awareness. It involves you gazing at an object or spot of your choice in front of you for a set period of time. It could be a point on a wall, an object in front of you, a tree outside a window, a piece of art, or anything that remains still. It should be at eye level, and your body should be directly facing it as you sit on a chair or on the floor.

A form of Tratak or Trataka meditation, gazing meditation can help us experience enhanced concentration, a boost in memory, and a better attention span - not to mention the feeling of calm and grounded connection that can come with gentle focus. Although simple, it can be very effective, especially if done repeatedly.

This meditation is suitable for all levels.
